In past times, the ritual celebration of Male and Female ensured abundance of crops and fertility for all humanity. The community would gather to enter these sacred mysteries and their essential symbolic elements: the union of two opposites creating and growing all life.

In this ritual process, each man and woman became the sacred mystery. This ended in the grand encounter: The sacred Alchemical Marriage, where two people were united to bring out the best of each other.

In modern life, the opportunities of getting together in a large group of people to celebrate the importance of the mystical potential of our ancestors are extremely rare.

In the Tenth African Encounter, we invite you to take part in this ritual conducted by Myrthes Gonzalez and Sergio Cruz, Founders and teachers of this Extension of Biodanza.

The Facilitators

Sergio Cruz ranks among the top five Biodanza facilitators worldwide. He last visited South Africa in the year 2000 providing very valuable training to the first School of Biodanza in Johannesburg.

As a Director of the International Biocentric Foundation, he carries the trust of Rolando Toro to maintain the orthodoxy and quality of Biodanza for its long term growth and protection.

 

Myrthes Gonzalez has the unique gift of bringing affectivity to life. Her groups are gentle and feel extraordinarily well supported with genuine care. And this affectivity is the essence of Biodanza.

She received her training as both a facilitator and as a teacher of Biodanza directly with Rolando Toro Araneda, the Founder of Biodanza.

 

The Profound Mystery of the Male and Female

With Rolando Toro, Sergio and Myrthes created this very unique workshop. It has been recognised as a unique and valid extension to the original works of Biodanza. And it has been running regularly in Europe for many years in response to consistent and high demand arising from its deep, life changing qualities.

A Biodanza Marathon

A four or five day Biodanza event is known as a Biodanza marathon. It is designed to give you a deep experience of vivencia – an experience lived fully. This deepens your ability to reach this state in weekly classes and eventually in life itself. And it can be a life changing transformation all by itself.

We recommend anyone undertaking Biodanza on a regular basis to include a Biodanza Marathon as part of their development in Biodanza on an annual basis.

Venue Preview

You feel the energy of the mountain and the merging of two oceans as soon as you get off the plane.

And the options for a few days tourism are huge. See the whales in Hermanus. Go up Table Mountain. You might visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was held. Take evening strolls along the promenade at Sea Point. Visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens – the Cape area has over three times the natural flora & fauna of Europe.

And of course, there is a thriving and very welcoming Biodanza community in the Mother City that will take you to their hearts and give you a truly welcoming embrace as you “return to Africa” (And yes, we all originated here).
