Career in Biodanza
A career in Biodanza is a life style choice. You do it because it is something you must do. It is not for the money. It is not for your ego. It is for no other reason than you must do it because you are drawn to it and you must share Biodanza’s unique gift with others.
And then you must work to create, protect and grow your delicate dream whilst handling the realities of daily life. Limited time, living costs, drawing people’s interest and attention and building a group to a point you are economically viable. And then keeping it growing!
It has all the challenges of self employment. And you must live the journey of personal development through Biodanza.
There is not one model for a Biodanza career. Some people go 100% for the Biodanza path and travel it fully. Stephen White is one South African example. He was an accountant in unit trusts. He grew his curls and finished the Biodanza School in Joburg. He got on a plane and went to Holland with his lovely Diana. He then set up classes for each night of the week and began holding weekend events. He and Diane have opened their own school in Holland and are well known and respected throughout the Dutch Biodanza community.
Michelle Macek is another person heading down a similar road. She finished the Joburg School of Biodanza whilst in Zambia with her family and husband involved in Aid relief work. She is now back in Washington DC and now taking America by storm.
Others make it part of their portfolio career mix. Willem Smuts, for example, runs his allergy treatment practice and also runs weekly Biodanza classes in an excellent location and then the annual Biodanza & Dolphins event.
Psychologists or art therapists find it a useful group process tool which allows their clients to grow beyond individual sessions. It fits into their existing career choice well and in a simple way.
Those with an artistic life style must do it to keep their own inspirational source overflowing.
Others find it gives them the opportunity to create a group based on a connection through the heart whilst providing some additional income or covering its own costs. They keep their main source of income going to pay the mortgage, insurance, feed the kids and pay the school fees.
It helps to look at your life and see what will help you or prevent you from living your Biodanza dream. And what is a realistic, achievable dream for you? It does take some looking. If it is not working, what is blocking you? And with personal development, it must come back to you. It is your responsibility to create the courage, the space and the opportunity.
The Personal Development Course, the Facilitator Training and Supervision give you the skills to start. Where you take it from there is a life development process of considerable depth, duration and a career choice largely in the service others.
We are here to help you make your dream a reality in a growing community.
